How do you apply a mod?

Seriously, I can't figure out how to apply the mod to the game, I downloaded a few good ones but then I got stuck. Can someone please help? It would be very much apprieciated. Thanks! ^_^

Use a program like WinRAR to extract the file to Computer/OS (C: )/Program Files/Fixaris Games/Sid Meiers Civilization 4/Beyond the Sword/Mods.

Then start the game as normal, and load the mod from the main menu. The game will then restart with the mod applied.
