Yet again I find myself playing find the needle in a haystack... just to get rid of Cleo's last remaining settler (on a galleon of course). grrrrrr!

Just took a quick look in the utilities forum for something that would help, but none of the save game editors with the 'multi' ability seem to've been updated for 1.21 yet (never had a use for a savegame editor until 1.21... thanks Firaxis... you've sure showed all those dastardly cheaters what's what).

Does anyone know of a utility or method that will let me figure out where that ship is... preferably without requiring me to blow the dust off of my hex viewer/editor (would probably take me as long to figure out as continueing my search of the haystack).

anyone?

I'm still searching that haystack...

The lack of the Multi Cheat function Civ 2 had was one of the first problems I noticed with Civ 3, along with no scenarios.

Multi Cheat allowed us to do many things with Civ 2 including switiching sides or controlling our accelerated starts.

We had the "multi.sav" cheat but damn Firaxis took that away too. WHY?? They don't want us to see how much their AI cheats.

I want the tools too. I would love to be able to play things from the AI's point of view.

But don't you think it's more likely to be a schedule/budget problem than a sinister plot? Some features always get sh**canned in big software projects. I have worked on many.

Gramphos's MultiTool did the trick!!!

That is one incredible tool! I thought it was only useful to mod-makers... now I think Firaxis should bundle it with the game! <grin>

I've worked on quite a few software projects myself and I've never heard of using software development time and effort to take a feature out after the software was released.... unless there are some very significant reasons.

Since the 'multi cheat' was in 1.17f, I would really like to hear the reason for removing it from 1.21f. I can understand taking it out of PTW, if they couldn't find a way simply to disable it during a multi-player game, but 1.21f is still a single-player game... who exactly is the 'cheater' harming?

Anyway... a big thank-you to Gramphos!!! Cleo's last remaining settler is finally on the bottom of the ocean! <grin>
