in regular civ games i spend some time to check the stats pages (powergraph, number of soldiers etc) from time to time to see if my neighbour is coming after me - or i could safely attack him.

with FFH missing this basic information one has to rely on scouting and especially hawks/floating eyes etc to check on the military power.

while i love the heightened early aggression of the AI i feel that they miscalculate quite often, especially if they come knocking with a stack of 6 warriors or something while i have 4 on defense (with better promotions).

is there a way for the AI to check these values? i would guess not as the AI can only access the same information as human players, correct?

is there a way to bring back the pre-BtS info screens and statistics?
this could easily improve the AI a lot i think!
(they would dogpile the obvious 1-warrior-per-city gamer and rightly so)

I think it's mostly that they get pissed at you or wrongly see you as weak. Like last game Hyborem attacked me when he only had one city. I annihilated those demons. I think he thought the Orcs (who were also Ashen Veil at this point and had been most of the game) would come to his assistance. They didn't. LOL!

I don't know exactly how, but it involves their attitude towards you and your relative strengths. The annoying thing is that they decide to attack long before they actually declare war, and once they make up your mind you can't change it. If you adopt their religion, favorite civic, etc., and really get on their good side after they decided you should die, then they will attack even at an attitude of Friendly.

I believe that I heard that the AI also only counts the number of units you have, not their promotions. That means they tend to thing I'm far weaker than I usually am, as I tend towards a small but elite force.

Yeah, I don't know how often I've beat the crap outta the AI cuz they don't know bout my promos. It's funny really. My small, elite army breaks their entire field army and takes some cities til they surrender. LOL!

This seems like a serious flaw in the AI. I could see it being acceptable in vanilla BtS, but in FfH, promotions are far more powerful.

Well, I'm sure we can look forward to more AI improvements in the future.
