In particular, the "BarbTech Fraction" setting. It doesnt seem to have any effect in my games.

What I want to do is prevent barbarians settle with the most advanced tech players have.
In my game, I am at industrial era but the AI players are still in medieval era and when the barbarians settle towns and such they start with my techs, all in industrial era which then leads to them crushing the AI that is still in medieval era ... not to mention when some barb cities become real civs, then its doom for the less fortunate AI's.

As far as I understand this setting should prevent this kind of thing if I set it to 1.0 right?

The description says "Former barbarians get all techs known by this fraction of players" and if I read it right, if I set the setting at 1.0 it should mean that unless all players know a certain tech the barbs wont get it ... but its not working for me. I've tried both setting this to 1.0 and to 0.0 and it doesnt work.

Valid ranges for that setting are 0.0 - 1.0

I recall this setting not working properly back in ROM-AND, kinda hoped it would have been fixed till now.

1.0 gives it ALL available tech. Originally the barbs got .6 iirc and then it was bumped to .7.

If you want the Barbs to stay idiots give it .1 or .2.

Oh ... I must have thought it all backwards ... hmm, the description could use some altering imo

Anyhow setting it to .1-.2 you say, will that make them dumber than the AI civs?

If i want to have them still advancing but not as fast as me but to keep them at the same level as the other AI's, what should i set it to?

.1 -.2 will give them access to only 10-20% of available techs that have been researched.

1st, If you are outteching the AI consistently you need to play at a higher Difficulty level.
2ndly, the .7 I mentioned earlier was the level the Team had them on at one time but try the .8.

I have never noticed this before, C2C Mod Team, your thoughts on this??

I think the .7 default is perfect. Any higher they'd be more capable of eliminating the AI and much less would make them unchallenging to the player.
