How fast do you play?

Based on a previous post about wanting to make the games longer, I'm curious as to how often/fast do you play? I don't recall seeing this discussed in great detail...

I'm posting this in the strategy forum because I think for most of us, it's major point of strategy in 1) finding time to play . and 2) maximizing your production in any given turn.

Given everybody's varyious lifestyles and freetime, I'm curious as to the "average" time spent on any given game and how many games one might complete in a given span of time

I mostly take close to a week and finish my games in the weekend.

I can quit any time, really I can and I've got loads of experience in doing it.

On the first night I'll go to bed after the acient period has finished and come back fresh.

I chose a game per 1-2 days, but sometimes it's even more...
It all depends on map size, ... A huge pangaea may take a week, and OTOH a tiny one a lot less (example: just finished a game in 1 hour and 12 minutes (Aztec domination ;-) )) Sometimes I might even be busy with more than one game at a time. So on average one game per 1-2 days comes closest to my personal taste.

(Remark: this may change in the near future because I'm planning on starting to micro manage )

Ive never finished a game. 100s of starts, no finishes.

Most of the games I win take 30 - 40 hours of play time (All are standard map, Emperor), the ones I lose are generally quicker, usually take 2 - 4 weeks to complete a match

With my job and girlfriend occupying most of my free time, it can take over a month to finish a game. That said, I might have as many as three games on the go at any given time.

Voted 2-3 weeks/game; it's hard to tell since it varies wildly with how much other stuff I have to do, and what kind of game I#m playing.

The most time I've ever spent on a CivIII game was 124h; The Ancient Mediterranean Mod, huge map with 31 civs.

Shortest played to victory was under 30 min, but that was on my 16x16 Hexette map - does perhaps not count!

IIRC, my most recent unmodded game on a standard map lasted about 12h - over a week's playing typically.

I only play huge maps so I play a game evert two months or so... (with the exception of some succession games I am/was in)

Normally a game in 2 days... dpending on the map size and everything.

One week, some times extending into the next. I always play on large maps.

Depends. Unless it's the holidays, I won't play it at all (apart from my PBEMS) during weekdays. And I may only play it for an hour or two at the weekend. But if it's really bad weather, and i'm in the mood for it then I play around 10 - 12 hours over Saturday and Sunday. This is usually around 1 1/2 games.
I'll vote "One game every 1-2 weeks"

I've never actually finished* a game, although I usually stop playing due to losing the save/my interest after a month or so, at an average of maybe 1-2 hours a day.


*My definition of finish = when 100% of a huge map waves my flag.
