So do you prefer Rel or Sci tribes to get those cheap culture points?

I like Sci ones, but not for territory, but for research. Territory is not very important, cities are. Though it's connected, I try to settle as much as I can in the early game and build Temples/Library later.

Sorry about the writing errors. I like to expand outwards, and close the borders afterwards

I didnt vote because... I find territory VERY important, but I don't think that means I need to be Rel or Sci...

Territory expansion is crucial. Cultural expansion is often a luxury to be ocasionally used to push an existing border so you can expand militarily.

Territory expansion is the most important thing in the game. Cultural expansion is the least.

I'd agree wi Toyomo, the most important bit for me

I don't. If you mean "cultural expansion" as causing/preventing flips, it's important to me. If you mean simply expanding borders, it's not very different from territory expansion, and a Library ot tighter city placement is enough.

Cultural boundaries are generally pretty worthless. If there is a space inside them for a city, I'll put a city there anyway.

Filling gaps for domination & culture wars for a resource are the only real uses

well the more territory you have the faster you research so having a large area will get you to advance faster. Plus it allows you to have a large army since you can place cities close enough together so that their boundaries touch each other. When placing cities i make sure that their territory can expand around it without going into another cities territory. This makes me lots of cash and gives me territory. Remember, the more land you have the better the chance you have of getting all the strategic resources.
