My opinion is that DG is a lot tougher than Emperor - the main differences being:

1) Extra AI settler
2) Slightly fast growth rate for each AI
3) Slightly slower tech rate for you.

the extra settler is what makes it tougher.

that said, if you give yourself an agri civ and a decent start, you shouldn't have too much trouble.

Things start geting tough on deity. that's the highest I've ever played a pangea. For me, Sid is winnable, but only on an arch map if I'm alone on the island and have a good start with handpicked opponents.

Sure Iroques! Sling is possible because of Alpha, and best UU ensure Pangea win. On standart map it may be middel-late MA.
