How many patches will it take before Civ IV is stable on the PC?

For me? Zero. Works great.

Played for about 6 hours last night; 5 hours this morning, no crashes or any problems (except for slight stuttering during some Wonder Movies).

My answer would be zero also.

One patch to make the game stable. The first patch always takes out the worst bugs such as game crashes and whatnot..... followup patches will usually only fix minor bugs and rare crashes.

It's already very stable for me.
