I've worked out this much:

4000 B.C. - 0 A.D. = 40 turns
1900 A.D. - 2100 A.D. = 100 turns.
CAn anyone fill the gap of 0 A.D. - 1900 A.D.?

so 4000 B.C. - 1500 A.D. = 80 turns.
so 1500 A.D. - 1900 A.D. is 1 turn per 25 years = 4 x 4 = 16
196 turns methinks. can anyone else confirm or correct this?

Are you sure 1500-1900 is 25 yr/turn and not 10 or 5?

which would mean that it is 40 or 80 turns
for a total of 220 or 260 turns

edit... just checked
4000 bc -0 ad = 40 turns (100yr/turn)
0 ad -1000 ad = 20 turns (50yr/turn)
1000 ad -1700 ad = 28 turns (25yr/turn)
1700 ad -1900 ad = 20 turns (10yr/turn)
1900 -1950 ad = 10 turns (5yr/turn)
1950 ad -2100 ad = 75 turns (2yr/turn)

so a total of 193 turns

thats seems more plausible, but would they make it a fidely number like 193?

i know. it seems to short.

Even though they've said they will not change this aspect of the game, I really wish they would. I often play the Beta Centauri scenario just because I know that it won't end. I wish they would at least put in a scenario that lets you play from the very beginning and just keep on going if you want.

I don't mind a forced win/loss at 2100, but it would be great if they let you keep playing after that if you want.
