How multiplayer works

Hi, I've started to organise a multiplayer game of Civ V. Since I've never really done this before I'm asking for an explanation of how it will work when it comes to DLC. So, I have all the DLC, a couple of friends have only got BNW and 1 friend has only GNK. Does BNW come with everything in GNK, therefore allowing us to play a GNK game, or will we have to play vanilla, seeing as that is the only thing that we all have. Or maybe I'm making no sense right now, I don't know. This is basically a "How does multiplayer with DLC work?" Thread.

Gnk, bnw and all the DLCs are all different. All the DLCs are separate from each other sometimes.
