Just like to start a poll, and see how often you guys play civ4.

You should add a poll to the thread - people like to vote in polls, it'll attract attention. It's at the bottom of the options when you post a new thread. I don't know if you can add one in later.

Me, I play whenever I have the time, which I usually when I should be sleeping. Two or five hours, four to six nights a week. It's a bad, bad habit.

It usually takes me a little more than a week to complete a game. If I'm on holiday sometimes I can finish a game in less time. I play Civ often, however I guiltily read the forums more.

I often play ten or twelve games a week, but sometimes I take a few days to finish one that's interesting to the end.

I mostly play SGs now, and those take more than a week to finish.
I can however play a few hours/ week on the WotM too. This one takes me more than a week too.

So a play a few games in the same week but they don't finish in this same week :)

It takes me more than a week to complete one game
but i have more than one game at the go

I begin then MOD, then I begin then MOD, and so on, besides a few duels maps I have never finished a game. Those duel maps are to small if you ask me, I won conquest every time in lass than 30 mins! Talk about boring.

I voted one game a week, with the caveat...

I think a lot of people play the way I do - play 2-3 games in a slack week, then skip a few weeks and come back and play a couple more.

I alternate between HOF, GOTM, WOTM, Mod/Scenario's and then a self start other than HOF....

That comes up with an AVERAGE of 4-6 a month, thus... 1 a week.

Cheers... ....Jungle

Yeah, I do this to a degree. I'll play nonstop for weeks, then not play at all for weeks, repeat. While there are weeks that I play in almost all my spare time, I'll completely avoid the game (indeed, computers altogether while I'm not at work) for a while in its turn.

I'm kind of weird, because I usually have two games going on at the same time.

One is the current ALC; each one takes around a month, sometimes longer, to complete.

The other is an off-line game, which usually takes me a week to finish. I like having a game I can play while I wait for feedback in the ALC thread. Not to mention one that isn't exposed to public scrutiny. :mischief:

I'm "on again, off again" as well.

I have a Job, Wife, Friends, Other Hobbies (please don't turn me in to the authorities). I'll play intensely for a few days (2-4 days @ Marathon), perhaps play another. It'll be weeks before I have time to play again.

At this rate, I'll never crawl out of Warlords difficulty.

This game distracts me from my studies!!!
Now I am trying to reduce my civ-ing

Are you guys for real? A week to complete a single game? It takes me two or three hours to win a game, and -- when I have insomnia -- I can play three or four games in a row.

I'm often up for 36-48 hours straight, with no sleep. So I need to find something to do with all those hours awake.

I end up playing around a game a week. My games are 5 hrs long, tops because I play warlord and cheiftian games.

Mix in a break to play something else, and that sums up my Civ play quite well.
