Every post on the Internet assumes that promoting units is obvious. I've clicked all over. The only thing I've found is that right-clicking on the little circle that says I have a unit promotion available makes it disappear. I can't find anything to click that allows me to actually do the unit promotion. On top of that, the Internet does say that I'm losing any future promotions as long as I don't promote the unit. Can someone be specific about exactly what I should click to bring up the unit promotion screen. It's not left-clicking the circle that says I have a promotion available, which would be the obvious option.

When you select a unit that can be promoted, on the top row there will be a promote button. If you use that units movement points on a given turn (because you didn't notice the promotion option was there), it will disappear until the next turn. You will also get another "unit can be promoted" notification on the next turn, and the turn after that, etc. until you promote the unit.

If your unit has a command queued up for next turn, you won't see the promotion option. Click cancel command for your unit and you should see it come back up. That's my guess on what's happening anyway, that confused me a couple times too.
