I just want to apologize in advance if there is already a thread for this, but I did not find one on search.

This thread is for people to post pictures of there tallest city(ies) from a non modded game.
Hopefully it can spur discussion on what is the best course of action for quick and massive growth, and in the process help establish and dispel theories or myths.
Also it can serve as a "hall of fame" of the big and powerful cities!

With out further ado I will present two cities from one game:
Monty, King, Pangea Standard, Legendary Start...5 turns away from Domination

Whoa, nice one.

About the best one I've ever had is mid to upper 40s, from my story Into the Future. I'll probably post it later.

I'm not sure but I think the maximum is 64.

These are the largest cities I've ever seen though.

Largest one I ever owned was around 40.

Cool, PICS PICS!!

I didn't know 64 was the max though:sad:
Tenochtitlan could of easily reached it in that game.
Yeah those were my largest cities ever, and I only built two cities the whole game.

For the record...Tradition start to finish, Temple of Artemis, and Floating Gardens in both cities. Hanging Garden in Teno, along with 2 Food Centric City States.
So that is +45% food production, and about 12-16 extra food in the Cap. (Not sure what the number of food CS give in information age?)

Yeah I'm not sure if it is the max though.

I'd imagine it'd be a multiple of 2 though.

Might even be 63 if you start counting at 0.

I think I might have heard of some cities reaching about a hundred before, but I'm not sure if it was true. And that might have been on vanilla, so there may or may not be a limit now.

Here's the city I talked about earlier. 45 pop, with New York there not too far behind. Possibly my two biggest cities ever.

Wow..100? That is Insane if it's true.

Nice Pics. I see you have the Stealth Bombers on deck ready to wipe some one out:nuke:

I don't know if it's true or not. I just thought I might have remembered hearing that before.

And, yeah my pics are from my story Into the Future. I'm currently in a big war there, and that's what the stealth bombers have been involved in.

If I recall correctly I think the 100 pop city was with time limit disabled. It's more interesting to see how large you can grow under standard conditions.

Twice I hit 50 pop both as OCC. my latest one was in GOTM 57 SV turn 335 I think. My other one was an Ethiopia OCC cultural victory turn 326.

I might have to see if I can hit pop 60.

@Heerlo: I just looked at that minimap from your Washington screenshot. I dread to think how big Kyoto is.

My record stands at 68. I had Amsterdam in the desert, with a HUGE amount of flood plains, thus polders. Got the Hanging Gardens, had alliances with several Maritime City States...yeah, it was glorious. Shame I don't have that savegame laying around anymore, it really did require a perfect map.
I think that if Siam were to take control of this city, it could've grown even bigger courtesy of their bigger alliances with the city states, but...

My all time record for unmodded was 37, the world is deleted now cuz I finished the game, over all with mods with super OP wonders late game my city has about 62-66 population.

The best that I have in my save files is this one on the turn of Science victory.

Petra Cities are always awesome. Nice size.

I didnt event think about using the Dutch and having a nice polder locations. 68 is big.

Seems like unique tiles and Maritime Civs help grew big...I wonder if anyone has a huge Inca City?

Biggest I've ever had was Seoul in an Emperor OCC. I was playing with the Immigration mod, and once I had hit the +2:c5science: on Specialists and adopted Freedom, I was getting 5-6 immigrants/turn. 87 pop by turn 249, when I blasted off. I was starving since pop 50 or so, but the immigrants came so fast, it didn't matter

In real world pop, that's almost 270 million people in one city. No wonder they were starving!

It's not too awfully big.

I've got my biggest city developing in a MP co-op game (me and a friend vs 4 AI civs on Prince). My capital has 37 population. Hanging Gardens makes a really big difference, as well as tradition and allied maritime states.
