In the file Civ3\Civ3PtW\PTW.INI file you can place the following settings:

1) KeepRes=1 - When set to 1, your desktop resolution will be what the game uses, i.e. no resizing of the screen will occur. The city and advisor screens will still be 1024x768 centered, but you will be able to see much more of the map on one screen.
2) Video Mode=1792 / Video Mode=1600 / Video Mode=1280 - Force screen resolution to one of these settings.

I personally use KeepRes=1 and keep my desktop resolution for the map when playing PTW. Btw, this also works for vanilla Civ3.

Many thanks. I tried 'KeepRes' in CIV3, while 'keepres' in PTW. It failed, surely...

At the top of my PTW.INI file I have:

[Civ3PTW]
PlayIntro=0
KeepRes=1

and it works like a charm. One would surely hope it isn't case sensitive, but ...

You should see the size of the city and advisor screens in my games. I play at 1600x1200. It takes like a 1/4th of the screen
