How to destroy colony?

After two weeks of playing, I'm almost done eliminating the english, no more troops ( i think) what left of them is a colony of iron, is that what keeping them in the game? I enter their negotiating screen, and I saw no available city, means that they have no more city, I don't know how to destroy that colony. Is building ang city over it is the only way?

One more thing, I had an MPP with Greece and Rome, and when Rome declared war on Greece, I had no choice but to get involved and help Greece, but when I declared war on english the Greeks remain at peace with the english, why is that? I thought we had an MPP? Is it because I'm the one who declared war?
And to make things worst, after I was dragged to greeks vs romans war, they signed a peace treaty with each other, those god damn greeks left me, now I can't sign a peace with romans cause I have allied with germany, americans and russia to declare war with romans and english. Does greece do that cause they know I don't keep track of their "reputation"?

One way to get rid of Colony is to attack it, if its guarded. If not try and get it in your Culture Radius. Else build city beside or on it. If its stoppin the end of the game its worth it.
As for MMP, Ive found it a quagmire to avoid. Unless you are very weak it becomes a vicious merry go round, it doent come it to effect until an attack (I think) and not because a war was declared. Ive found that its hard to get out of a war if you have a MMP. (Disaster if your in Democracy) Everytime you make peace with your enemy the ally gets attacked in the next round by your previous enemy thus your back in war. Depends on which order A1 opponents are in game.

The problem is not the colony - they have a city somewhere. You could try swapping world maps with another Civ who might have the city on their map... otherwise you have to play "hunt the sausage".

In civ 2 you, I think if you discovered rocketry the whole map will be shown, but not anymore in civ3, someone said you have to retire the game to see it, but that doesnt work, does anyone know how to see the whole map? it will help in finding resources and hunting your enemy.
