How to get Europe to fight?

I am the Americans playing PTW 1.04 on Marla's map with all civs on (24) at warlord. I was able to get the Great Lighthouse and then sent about 20 galleys off to explore, and found a tiny passage to Europe. Since I also was able to get the Great Library, when I met the 21 civs on that continent, i caught up with techs, so I am researching the printing press in 200 AD.

My problem is that I want to stir up trouble in Europe, getting them to get into long wars with each other, crippling them, but they won't sign any alliances. MPP are still a while off, so what could I do to get Europe to fight? (Offered Spain 4 techs to fight France with me, but they wouldn't bite.)

If they are trading or have diplomatic agreements, its extremely hard to get them to wage war on one another. I would suggest trying to involve other countries like Carthage or Babylon, and see if it spreads into Europe.

The AI won't make a military alliance with you unless you are at war yourselves.
If they got trade agreements, they'll probably won't either. You can check the diplomacy screen to see this.
