How To Get in A MP or PBEM game if you r a newbie

Hunting down the last of the Iroquois invading force in the northwest. Found a couple of cavalry in the ruins of a Japanese city and eliminated one of them.
Bombarded a couple of Iroquois Frigates off our south coast.

The Shogun has returned and brought order to the people. A new government has been formed.

Captured an Iroquois worker and fired a couple of shots at the frigates off our coast.

The Japanese Empire lies in tatters. The Emperor has taken the honourable way out and what is left of the army (more like a militia) is making plans for a last stand).

Took a few more fringe Japanese cities.
I thought Greybeard miscalculated leaving a cav in the jungle (see minimap image attached), but I maybe miscalculated worse: stranded my cav army attacking the green cav in the jungle, so then I committed to protecting said army. All in all I'd rather have had green banner troops come to me instead of the misplaced intrusion. I'm curious to see what is left when I get the turn again.

Yes, our cavalry unit sitting in the jungle may seem strange but we often send a unit ahead of our main force so we don't run into surprises.
You made the right decision to send in more units to protect your cav. army.
We launched an attack against your stack of units and knocked your cav. army and your knight army down to 2HP each, then your 12 cavalty units stepped in to protect them. We managed to eliminate 8 of them before we ran out of units in range to attack. The Aztec loses were 4 cavalry.

Redlined then sunk Aztec frigates off iron coast.
Jungle wounded armies retreated. Roaded coal tile then railed; redlined Aztec cannon stack; lost 1 of the 4 jungle cavs on Aztec cannon stack, then killed 3rifles and/or MI with remaining 3 jungle cavs; brought in more cavs and killed remaining cannon stack defense; captured cannons and advanced fresh armies to protect.

Captured sw Japan coastal town and advanced SOD into Japan railed jungle.

@Quarky No apologies necessary -- we all have such delays from time to time.
 
Off our south coast we sank a frigate and lost a frigate.
Attacked the Iroquios stack near the Japanese city of Nagoya but the units are too numerous and too advanced for the Aztec forces. We lost 3 Med. Inf. and the Iroquois lost 1 Inf.

The only action was the bombardment of one of the fleets of Iroquois frigates off our south coast.

The end is near. The country is in crisis with only token pockets of resistnace. The government has fled (again) and the people are rudderless. Resitance shall continue though. Already resistance pockets are being formed to harass the Iroqouis occupiers. While it may be too late for the Japanese nation, the people will continue to struggle to rise from the ashes.
