Ok, what I really wish the game had:
When starting a fresh game that'd begin in a later age, every Civ-Game I played (IV - VI) would start you out with a bunch of settlers and a handful of units from that era, so you could quickly settle a few cities and build up quickly. Having an advanced start was also always an option afaik. I'm kinda annoyed that in Civ VII as it seems you're forced to do the advanced start instead of just starting with some units. I'd like to start some games in modern, but settle my starting area myself instead of clicking some tiles and spawning cities.
I've searched through all the options for starting a fresh game and didn't find anything that'd make this possible. Not sure if it could even be modded.
