I'm playing a scenario from 700BCE as the Maghda Kingdom. There are two other Indian kingdoms Koysala, and Avanti both of which hate me. I fought a war with the Koysala and took one of their cities and then I signed peace with them. Now I'm pretty much the most hated power in the subcontinent but also the most powerful followed by the Avanti with Koysala last. I try to make myself less hated by converting to Hindusim from Buddhisim so I share a common religon with the other two kingdoms. It supposedly increases my rep but they still hate me and refuse to trade with me. Avanti is somewhat better we do trade some wheat and they open borders to me, but Koysala refuses to have any relations at all.
A while later I make contact with the Jin who like me and we establish a good trading relationship.
Anyway I shortly afterward meet Persia. Persia has somehwere around 20 cities and a massive military force full of Immortals and such. By comparison I have 4 cities and a decent military of War Elephants, Swordsmen, and Spearmen and technically I'm stronger than the other Indian powers and the Jin as well.
Persia hates me and everyone else from the beginning and shows it by invading the Koysala Kingdom. I definatley don't want Persia to overrun them since they're a good buffer so I try to get them to agree to open borders so I could sent troops into their territory and gift military units to help them fight off Persia but they flat out refuse. Fools. So I march my army through Avanti who I have an open border with and fortify along the Indus but I can't enter the Koysala territory to help them. They hate me and refuse to give open borders at all, so unless I decalre war on Persia which I definatle don't want to do I can't help them.
Anyone have suggestions on how I get them to stop hating me so I could send them aid, or any other soloution to prevent Persia from overruning them?
