How to make new resources show up?!

Basically i have an updated resources icon sheet so when i use the hacked editor to add a resource i have an icon for it.

However, when i play the game i can't get my bananas to show up on the strategic map?

Any tutorials to help or anyone any advice they could share?

they do appear in editor generated maps, but i don't think they are appearing in the actual game map?!

how many of each type of resource can we achieve? I hear that a max of 10 luxury resources is all that's possible, is this true?
