How to Name Landmarks

A couple quick questions:

1. Does anyone know where I could find the tool for making notes on the map? I believe it is in World Builder, which I've never used. If I'm wrong please let me know.

2. When you load World Builder, does the whole map become visible? I would like to make notes on the map without seeing the areas I have yet to explore.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...

1) Not in worldbuilder. If you use your mousewheel you can zoom out to globalview. Once you get into global view (max zoomout) you can click the far left button on the minimap and it opens up a small menu. You can draw lines or make signs with the stuff there.

I believe the options are
-New Sign
-Delete Sign
-New line
-Delete line
-View

"View" being default (do nothing) option.

2)Yes it does. You will not have to go into it though.

just alt-s (civ4 1.61) and you can place landmarks/signs.
for lines you have to zoom out.
