I have no idea :D. There is no "perform paradrop" button or anything like that. If I click on a tile a few tiles away, then they just simply move 1 tile towards the tile I clicked, don't "jump" there. Am I missing something?

There is a paradrop button, if paradrop is possible. Your unit must be in a city or fort of yours (i think teammate or vassal is ok) and may not have moved on that turn.

Yes, have to begin the turn in a city or fort. (Been doing all kinds of fun paratroop experiments during my last war :p )
Also, I've noticed that while the trooper still has a movement point after it lands, it cannot use that to attack until the next turn...

Yep. Tahts somewhat strange... Can't move before droping, cant attack after dropping... I think someone overdone the "balancing" a tiiiiny bit here...

Can they pillage, or do they have to wait a turn?

BTW, the paradrop animation is very cool. :goodjob:

Wait. The animation is actually very annoying after the 5th, 50th, and 500th times, it takes too long and the unit loses focus before you can move it after drop. Also there is no way I can see to drop 5 paratroops at once like you can do with normal moves -- you select a group and click drop, it does only one. I wish there were an option to turn it off (is there one? should fast moves do it?)

FYI I agree that not allowing it to attack after drop is lame/unrealistic, but I think I understand why -- you don't want to make worker steals that easy, just for starters. they would be way too powerful for their cost if they could attack same turn.

Yes, they can pillage. That's one of the best uses for the Paratrooper IMO. Drop them behind a city you want to take out and sever their road network so that reinforcements take longer to arrive and they have no resources for units.

I have dropped multiple units in one go. As long as they are all selected and none have moved it will work.

You can also spam "P" and "Mouse 1" on the target, you dont have to wait until the first one has landed before you can drop your second. :)

huh. I've only played one game far enough to use them, and it didn't work. I did select all and then clicked paradrop button & dest, but only one went. Maybe one of them had already moved in the whole group or something? I'll try again next time I get that far, thanks.

One at a time is the way to do it. But like previous poster said, you don't have to wait for the first one to land.

One of the coolest things to do is jump oceans is the other landmass is in reach. I hopped an AI with naval superiority that way, took a city, then airlifted all my troops in. Razed another city, then sued for peace. That was enough time for my vacation to Alpha Centari.

I've just loaded up the game I was referring to and moved a stack of 3 with one click and a stack of 4 also.

I'm not sure why it works for me and no-one else but it does work.

Have no problems either. And the animation, you can just skip it by either moving the para or hitting space, if its in a good defendable location already. Also, you need to be able to see the area you are para-dropping into, so bombers/fighters might need to do a recon mission first, before you can drop.

That's one thing I found out the hard way, you need to have line of sight to drop the paratroopers. Had to delay my attack for a turn as I had used all my aircraft elsewhere (attacking the enemy navy) before the paratroopers, so I had no recon run to use (just deploying a commando raiding party, so I didn't bombard cities).
