How to reload a mod without relaunching Civ5?

Dave,

He is clearly being serious. I have had similar issues with mod"buddy".

It has gotten to the point where every time I make a change, and wish to see it implemented, I actually have to light the computer on fire, count to three, put out the fire, and then..... BAM! it's there.

Also, chanting and animal sacrifices to Civ V seem to help.
;)

seriously though, interesting observation about the folder being opened/highlighted.

I usually just quit to menu, alt-tab to clean/rebuild the mod, and then alt-tab back, re-select the mod, and start a new game.

thats what I do too, but be aware, if you change the version number, you will need to go into your mods folder and delete the older version. I actually just cut and paste it to my desktop, until I have confirmed my new changes are working. Also, You don't have to clean unless you removed files, I'm pretty sure.

I supposed I should count myself lucky, as my obstacles seem entirely insignificant beside some.

What sort of modding are you folks testing when you suffer these absurdities?

On another note, modbuddy performs horribly, often crashing and burning if I try to use it, such as editing a file, while civ 5 has my mod loaded, and is in game. If I wait until I'm out of the game, it performs half way acceptably (although still far worse than my visual studio 2005, 2008 and 2010). I was becoming entirely too encumbered by frustration prior to this revelation. Upon discovering more and more of the toolset's vagaries I find I'm able to simultaneously achieve more and refrain from pulling what's left of my hair out.
