How to skip intro

I have watched the nice intro movie a dozen times or so - how kan I skip it from now on? Esc or any other key just makes the program crash.

same problem here.
Only way is wait-dont press ANYHTING-until the old man dissapears and the viking ship appears.Then you must press all the time the left mouse button.i dont know if this will work for you,but since now for me works fine.Of course,i m still experiment with this.

See the link in my sig. After following those instructions you'll see a black screen while the game loads, but you won't see the video.

You can set SkipIntroVideo to 1 in Documents\My Games\Sid Meiers Civilization 5\usersettings.ini - but you'll still get a black screen for a few seconds while the game loads.

This must be at least the third thread on this subject...

Hitting enter or Alt-Enter is the easiest way to cut the Intro movie short. I f you don´t want to do that every time see post #3.

I just click space bar until the arrow appears then a few seconds into the video it cuts off.
