how to tell what resources an enemy has

is there a way you can figure out what resources an enemy has? like through the resources screen? if so what column do you look at?

for ex, justinian doesn't want my gold, but i check out his land and he doesn't have gold. that confused me.

The info in the Foreign advisor Screen is just what they are willing to trade to you, so if Justinan - just for example - has only one Gold, its not avaiable for trade and will not show up.

From what i know, there is no way to know, what ressource deals the AI has wit other AI's. Which is odd, since for some reason, the AI is allways aware if you Trade with someone - i.e. they Worst enemy - to give you these Diplo penalties.

P.S. as i think of it... There is one way... If you can accumulate enought Espionage Points to be able to see inside his Cities, you will see what ressources he has. Unless the AI Civ we are talking about is really-really puny however, this will need a Huge advantage in EP's

You can look at the diplo screen. If you highlight an AI leader and mouse over the other AI, you will see all trade deals that they have. This includes any resource deals that they may have. You'd be surprised at some of the silly deals the AI will set up AI-AI...

Thanks Shyuhe. I missed this - sometimes vital - peace of information so many times... In some games i even tried to account for all ressurces of a type on the map, to try to find out who has what And all that time it was right under my nose
