I have been searching on the forums here, but unfortunately nothing has solved this problem for me.
I would like to change the look of the roads and rail roads and I have found two downloads that should be doing exactly that. The files I have downloaded are pcx files the game seems to be using nif files?
Is this as it should be?
And where should these files go?

I am playing CIV 4 Warlords.

pcx files? IIRC, Civ 3 used those. You might have found mods for Civ 3 instead. What are the links to the mods?

Nifs and DDS files are what you'll most commonly find for Civ4 graphics mods. To change any graphics is usally a two-step process at the minimum... you'll need to download the graphic files themselves, put them in a directory (custom assets or a mod folder), and then point the game to that directory by altering the specific XML file to whatever it is you're changing (you can use Wordpad to change the XML).

Thanks a lot for your answers. I have been digging quite deep in the archives to find the mods, so you are probably right that these are for CIV3.
I will take another look to see if I can find the mods again.
Both were changing the look of the curvy roads and rail roads to straight ones.

Anyway I am guessing there is no point in even trying to get the game to read these pcx files then?

Edit:
Still no luck in finding the files again, but not much point as these files must be for civ 3

Has there maybe been made this kind of mod for civ 4, I much prefer the look of the roads and rail roads from civ2 ......and yes I am that old.
