After Civ 6's announcement I have watched Civilization's facebook page get gradually tens of thousands of new "likes", so this game will definately get new fans too. Comments there reflect this too.

I think you underestimate prerelease hype effect on newbs. There actually plenty of civ fanatics in the making out there who will swallow these vids up. Reminds me of when I found out about AOW 3.

I watched the "How to make diplomacy work" video and was surprised it was targeted at players and not the devs. °_°

Those videos are for total newbies? The game seems to target them as well, I can see.

If I had never played Civ before, I think these videos would make me more likely to buy the game. There are many game titles I've never tried out because I really don't know how they work. It's pretty good marketing.

I can imaging if someone never chose a civ before then they have no clue what a world wonder is or what it does or why they should build them

Eh, I enjoyed them. Even if nothing new it was watching some more game play without sitting through an hour long online session (no offense to the people that watch/create these it's just beyond my attention span).
