How to view autoexploring units?

I'm sorry if this has been asked before but the search is offline and it's a quick question:

When my units are set to autoexplore, the game no longer centers the map on them during my turn so I can watch them moving around the map.

The same is true when one of my units is moving a long distance across multiple turns.

How can I change this so I can see my units moving automatically?

Thanks.

Yes, me too, I'm still less than 24 hrs into Civ4 and this is niggling at me. I hate having to go searching for my exploring or automoving units every turn, or even forgetting all about them then remembering them many turns later.

Loving this game. The full zoom-out view of the globe floating in space still gives me the shivers.

Myself as well. Sometimes the only way I can find an explorer or ship I've set to autoexplore is by looking for the clear spot on the mini-map.

There must be a way to change this.. maybe in the config or something?

Open your Options menu, then try selecting "Show Friendly Moves". If that doesn't work, I don't know what would.

Been there, done that. Still doesn't follow my auto explore units, so I do what Arkayne mentioned and look on the minimap for a bright area to find my ship. Which sucks, because if you forget, your unit could have sailed past many interesting spots.

That's the first thing I tried. Even turned it off, tested it, turned it back on and tested it again.

Does the camera center on auto-moving units for anyone, I wonder?

Oh no, don't tell me there isn't a way to follow units? How can this be? It's pretty basic to Civ gameplay. I can't imagine it'd be deliberately left out.
