Chieftain
Hi. This is my first attempt to post a map to civfanatics, and I'm also publishing it to Steam.
Manifest Destiny
This Map is based on the Near Perfect Earth Map Vanilla Map of maniuscaesar that I got from the Steam Workshop. I tweaked the map and replaced the resources in a way I thought would make for a balanced and playable game for any civilization. After four games (starting on each continent) and having some of the best Civ experiences ever, I've decided to share it with the rest of the community.
Set-Up
I have placed 12 Civs with two cities each to enhance the accuracy feeling. One Palace in the capital and two warriors at the start. There are no other modifications or gameplay changes than that. 3 Civs per Continent, 4 main Continents. City states are placed strategically. The world map is visible for all players. It IS the Earth anyways, it's not a surprise. I like to see it.
Resources
Each Civ has access to more than enough strategic resources, but not too many that they lose their strategic value. They are placed to encourage competition.
Each Civ theoretically can obtain all luxury resources, but don't expect it. Each Civ has a luxury resource speciality to encourage trade and some resources can only be found in certain areas.
Installation
- download the civ5mod files to your mod folder
- launch civ5, go to the mod browser and check 'Manifest Destiny' and click Next
- click Single Player, then click Set Up Game
- click Map Type and select the 'Manifest Destiny' map
- check "load scenario"
- select difficulty Prince recommended (King if you want more challenge)
- Launch
This map is for Civilization 5 vanilla.
Good luck, have fun, and let me know how it plays out. Thanks!
