I could totally imagine Modern Era without expansionist ! Not especially because offensive imo, but it is really hard to find a good expansionist in the expected cultures, way harder than finding good candidates for militarist affinity.

Really? to me China screams expansionistic, It's flavoured around the CCP after all.

If trascendance wasn't a thing I'd be annoyed, I'm rather curious if the AI will trascend often, and more than 1 era if It's on a roll.

Then I would say Soviet (or CCCP ) fits the Expansionist better.

I'm not defending PRC in any case, but compare to Soviets, all the military expeditions conducted by PRC were either a total failure or didn't resulted in any expansion of its territory. If anything, PRC's territory is basically ROC-Qing's territory minus Mongolia, Taiwan, etc..

I would say Qin, Han, Tang, and Qing China can be considered as expansionists.

And you'd be right, expansionist does fit the Sovier union as well, Im just looking at China, and I do think that expansionist would be a very constant trait to represent it (from Mao to Xi). However, they could also both be militaristic, or heck we might even see a scientific Soviet union, and a merchant China, who knows honestly.

Most of Canada's territory has already been formed prior to 1920; even when Newfoundland and Labrador joined the country in 1949. I think Canadians would be agrarian since Canada takes pride in its own agricultural products as much as it can.

IRL Floating Markets are situated alongside rivers.

Ah, this has just sparked in me the desire for Humankind to give us what Civ never gave us, navigable rivers. I think it would be even easier for them, because the combat is not so clunky and because rivers are inside an hex and are not between hexes, and similar calculations could be used for placing small and navigable rivers on the map, maybe with fords and buildable bridges for unit crossing and strategic chokepoints...

Beautiful art, as always, and the elephant is lovely. I don't know how fictional it is, we've got this photo of a bunch of elephants with different weapons, I find it an interesting pick to symbolize the use of these animals, but my knoweledge about Siam history is very limited. Do you know any other military unit that would be really emblematic and more historically accurate for this culture? I would love to know more.

They can always introduce Israel and make it Expansionist, and then watch everything everywhere burn and explode. Not just in game's community, in real world too
