I am having an... install? problem

I have already installed Civ IV on my old computer and it ran horribly due to dated hardware, but it ran. I have recently aquired a new pc that meets ideal requirements and want to install it on there. I bring up the autoplay and hit install... and a message comes up titled "HP PrecisionScanner Destinations Update" and the text in the message reads "This program updates your HP software, please close all applications before proceeding." After closing all applications and hitting OK another dialog box immediately pops up saying update could not be completed and nothing else happens. I don't understand why Civ IV is updating my HP software... or trying to. I've looked on several forums but no one seems to have experienced a similar problem that I have found so if anyone has the answer or possible solutions to this problem please let me know.

Try starting th install manually from the setup file on the disk an it should work
