i cannot breed pigs

Hello everyone,
i see on the wetlands the option to breed pigs. However as soon as i make a colony and the tiles are inside my colony range , the pigs disappear from the option. What am i doing wrong?
I would appreciate any help....

You need pigs in your Inventory to breed them. Buy some from Europe. Once you have 200 they will multiply at max rate, lower if you have less. The other animals work the same. Next to the Herder/Rancher/PoultryBreeder working on a land tile for goats and cattle the milkmaid working in stable also gives a tiny amount of growth.
