Hello there, so I've always been a big fan of civ games, but the repetitiveness of victory's simply through expansion, even when you did not initially intend it, has always annoyed me.Playing both multiplayer and single player, the endless waves of units large empires can spam makes playing small impractical. This may be a symptom of recently watching the flim 300, but I thought a potential solution to this problem would be some type of tile upgrade, like a citadel or farm, were if military units were placed there, and the tile was worked, they could receive upgrades every 10 turns or something of that sort. It could be balanced like social policies, in that the more cities you have the more turns it takes your units to receive upgrades. This would both give incentive to stay small and some ability to counter endless waves of enemies.
SO MY QUESTIONS ARE:
Is something like this possible?
If its possible, would a beginner, in terms of modding, be able to do it?
People have suggested constantly sieging a single enemy city or a city state to rank up units but that to me seems exploitative and tedious.
The modding community for this game is great and I would love feedback if this is possible.
Thank You, Jaggard
