Wow, you all seem to have been very lucky, when the plague struck me it hung around for ages. It spred over all the continents of the world rapidly, practically every civ. was affected, and I had to cut off half my empire to stop the spread. It was disatrous, I spent about 15 turns recovering and in the mean time I lost several wars, if my tech wasn't so far ahead my my cities so productive I could have been sunk.
However, it may have been my development that lead the plague to be so awful, most of my cities had walls and were connected by rail or ports.
