I downloaded the Facism Patch thingy and i cant get it to work....does anyone know where to unzip this soon beach at, or know anything that could help? hehe thanks

go to download.com and get a zip utility. They are free.

Also tucows.com, shareware.com, hotfiles.com.

Probably the best overall is Winzip. Other zip format programs, like WinAce and WinRAR, work just as well on Zip files.

Ummm....ok i downloaded the new winzip thingy and i installed it. then i unzipped it into my civ II folder....and nothing happend.....what gives!! Where are the instructions!!!! AHHH!

Well, now you have to install it.You will be overwriting files with the new ones in the modpack.
1.Back up the files that are to be to be replaced. Most likely these are rules.txt,units.gif and maybe some others. Those 2 are the main ones.
2.drop your new ones in the place where the old ones are and say yes to replace the originals.Should be in Civ2/files/support.

ready to roll. There should be a read me included with the mod pack detailing installation.

Sorry for being stupid....but it says:
C:\My Download files\CivIIMGE_UCCUpdate3.exe is not a valid Win32 Application.

This time i downloaded from their Web page

And when i download it, it doest turn itself into a Winzip file it just says that thing about Not being valid after i click on it.

If you wan't the Facism patch, download it here (i don't know where you've downloaded it before) : http://www.civfanatics.com/civ2modpk.shtml
And then rename the file from "modpacks" to "modpacks.zip"
Now just double click it and unzip it to your Civ dir.
Worked for me this way...

Hehe, no problem..

It might be an idea for the person who maintains the site/downloads to change the filename to modpacks.ZIP

I'm glad you got what you needed from DvR's source, but I'll comment about your prior problems.

It sounds like the file is corrupt for some reason, unless there is a problem with some of the Win32 libraies perhaps. I'm running windoze 95 OSR 2.1, and had no problem with the update I downloaded, so the original issue is either a bad download, or bad (or missing) system files.
