Hy everybody,
a totally incurable CIV BTS addict from Vienna, Austria here.
Last night I had this amaziong dream/idea and I desperatly need someone to realize it. Its about the Leader traits.
Although I find them quite cool, they always also could mean a massive imbalance of power (e.g. the Vikings, agg and fin, what a mix!!)
For a long time, I reckoned how this imbalance/injustice could be changed. Now I had this idea, but Im afraid it is super hard to realize it.
The idea: Instead of starting off with these and those leader traits, a civilization needs to earn them. And how? 2 ways: either by 1. errecting Wonders or 2. reaching a technology first.
So in fact, it work similarily too religions (e.g.monotheism gives you Judaism)
So a structure could look like this:
first one building
the Pyramids........becomes industrious
the Colossus.......becomes financial
the Oracle.....become spiritual
the Temple of Artemis.....becomes creative
the Parthenon.....becomes philosophical
Techs:
first discovering
masonry...becomes protective
monarchy...become imperialistic
fascism....becomes aggressive
in order to make it fair, it would probably need more than one opportunity to obtain a trait. I count 11 defferent traits.
I think this would be really cool and more fair. Then, you also could create complete new trait combinations e.g. industrious and aggressive etc.
Further, it would be more "realistic" than also traits need to develop first.
To the mod experts: would such a mod be feasable?
First it would be necessary to remove the existing leader traits completely.
in the second step the effects of wonders and techs need to be changed.
