I NEED CHEATS FOR 21g!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you having that much trouble with the game? If so, let us know what the problem is. Most of the old-timers around here can handle the stock game pretty well (although, personally, I can't seem to do squat with the English). :D

:nono: I'm afraid you're out of luck. SGs and OSGs are your best "trainers." Cheats in Civ3 are really frowned upon, to the point that programmers removed any possiblity of cheating. The PC GOTM is checked thoroughly, they (cracker) can even tell if you reloaded. Chieftain and warlord levels provide the human advantages.

What exactly is causing you trouble?

Damnit,i SUCK at this game and i cant play without the "multi"cheat which isnt avaivible with v.21 g
PS:i downloaded lots of these new goverments and it dosent say anything about them in civilopedia help me i donno how 2 us ethese govs

Okay, okay, now take a deep breath. You know, you're not really living up to you username, at the moment. ;) Where are you getting these "new types" of governments? If they're made by PC users, they're not going to work - only maps will work cross-platform for now. So, this may ease some frustration for you.

My advice: Choose Egypt and play them. The religious and industrious traits can help you with happiness/culture and production. Keep one defender in each inner-city, maybe two to three near potential enemies. Don't build things you don't need right away. :scan: AARs (After Action Reports posted in the GOTM threads and SG/OSG threads.

That is exactly the problem I would have it Civ 2. I would just turn on the cheats and beat any difficulty, and after the initial excitement of tanks in BC, it would get pretty boring. Eventually, I discovered Civ 3, and at first was a bit disappointed because of the lack of cheats. But now, I've gotten pretty good, and don't miss em. Trust me, removing the cheats was probably for the best. Try playing the game without cheats now, since you know how things work now, even after playing w/ cheats.

well its not DIFFICULT for me,i could probably just complete emperor just now without cheats but i cant play because the game's too booring for me when the whole map is black and i have to explore i hate that
PS how come wales are swimming in deserts?! i just noticed that!o man i need to cut down on those hacked pc mods and patches....sheesh!

It might be because of global warming. If you have too much pollution/nuke too much, you'll start getting it like crazy, and it can turn coast squares into land squares, and so on. I don't recall ever seeing a pc mod with whales in the desert....

well not just in sand also in mountains and they are like 50 squares away from the coast and also what nukes and pollution im in about 3500bc :wallbash:

Well, then it must be some mod. Yeah, I suggest you lay off the mods for a little... at least some of the crazier ones. If whales start popping up in deserts and mountains, I think it's time to step back from the computer and take a breather...

If all you want is to see the entire map, you can do the following:
1. Go to the Art folder, and the Terrain folder inside that.
2. There will be a file named FogOfWar.pcx there.
3. Rename that file - any change will do (don't duplicate something already there, of course), Fog OfWar.pcx (note the space) or some such will do fine.
4. Start Civ3 and load the game where you want to see the map - it will all be visible, though you have to click on the minimap to look around (clicking on the main screen doesn't work for some reason).
5. Once you've looked around, quit and put FogOfWar back to normal - proceeding with it modified can cause Bad Things to happen.

You still have to explore to be able to see things readily, but you'll know the general shape of the map. And if exploration is truly such a problem for you that you can't play if you have to explore - well, you are playing the wrong game. In fact, you are playing totally the wrong genre.

!!!Man,dont u realise u just INVENTED a cheat?!!? SUBMIT it in some cheating website, man!!!Thausands of beople like me all over the world need it!!:goodjob:

I didn't exactly invent it - it's fairly common knowledge in these parts.

Thanks Beamup - I hadn't tracked down that in the FAQs (or I forgot having seen it ages ago).

I just played a quick Chieftain game to reveal a big UK map - was fun anyway to get so far ahead of the AIs with resources everywhere - forget how easy it is at that level, prefer Monarch these days.

If you're having trouble exploring or you find it too boring, just automate some units to do the exploring themselves(although they tend to get carried away at exploring the coastlines). And if the game is still too boring for you, then try automating other units like workers(but I reccomend that you don't, since you can accompish more by controlling them yourself). Otherwise, I suggest that you calm down just a tad and maybe try to be a little more patient with Civ III, which is certainly a time consuming game(in a good way, of course).

Rather an understatement, wouldn't you say? I think the most evil change in CivIII over 2 is that I can't easily see my menu bar clock anymore, which is the only clock in my computer room. I have lost count of the number of times I've said, "Well, time for bed." and quit out of Civ to find it's 4AM!

But even with all that- I HAVE NEVER........

EVER........

EVER.......

seen whales in the desert.

i found out why, aldo i found out that i need COPPER to buy me spearmen...yeah right...hilarious....
it was all cuz of a mod "resourses"
it made wales swim in mountains and stuff like that...it also made ivory look like canabis leaves
im not gonna use this ridicilous mod anymore...
