i'm sorry if i frustrate some people with this, but i know very little about computers. i saw a friend playing civilization for xbox, and, not having an xbox, i decided to purchase the pc version (Game of the Year Edition). i installed it, and about 1 minute into the tutorial, my whole computer crashed. i updated the drivers for my memory card (Radeon 7600), and it still kept crashing. i downloaded and installed the 1.74 patch, and then i was completely unable to start the game or even uninstall it to start over. thanks to this kick ass forum, however, i was able to reinstall the necessary d3dx9_32.dll, and get it to start again. started the tutorial again: crashed. i tried to reinstall the 1.74 patch and got the same error at the end (Error 1706.No valid source could be found for product Sid Meir's Civilization). still crashing. what am i doing wrong? this game seems so cool, and i really want to play it, but this part is extremely un-fun...
