Ive seen a whole bunch of threads about civ 4 and i think were expecting way to much here, its a complex game as it is. C'mon weve had threads hoping for actual resource numbers thread on chemichal and biologicakl warfare. Its way to much to be crammed into an already crammed game. I think alot of people in this forum are going to be dissapointed with civ4.

to many strategy games try to sell on simplicity... i want to see a complex game where i have to worry if my soldiers have had enough sleep last night

Complexity with a simple interface is the key. Even better if many of the features in the game are optional so players can choose the complexity they prefer. But to be fair i would imagine many people will end up disapointed thats human nature.

Then you will definitely be disappointed with Civ4. Might I suggest you head over to www.matrixgames.com They will be able to fill your need for that level of depth and complexity. They have lots of games like that for you to choose from. I'm personally looking forward to Crown of Glory from them.

Civ won't go there. Why not? The games like that typically sell less than 30,000 copies (all to hardcore fans of the genre). Firaxis would have to close up shop if they had another game that sold that few copies.

Seriously, go there or www.battlefront.com - games like that do exist.

Or if you are interested in just one ACW battle, The Battle of Bull Run made by a few of my co-workers is quite good for what it is.
