I want a fix already!

Iv held my breath for over 2 months and have been wating and wating for a dix to this games issues, iv tried just about everything that you can think of. Iv upgraded to a gig of ram. Iv defraged, iv tured shaders of and on so many times my head hurts. I dont no about you guys but this next patch better fix the game to be playable. We have payed or money and have wated for long ennough. As this is my first civ game i really really want to make it a lasting impression and so far i havent been able to finish more than a game. I am very good with computers and am taking a Cisco CCNA/ A+ class, i am at the very end of the A+ part and am just getting ready to begin my CCNA. I will post my settings and a dxdiag here agian and see if anyone else has any ideas. However if it involves upgradeing i cant right now becuase im low on money and my specs should be ennough to run this. Thanks for any ideas and help.

Ram: 1GB PC2100 DDR RAM
Video Card: Nvidia 5700 LE 256
Sound Card: Sound Blaster Live! LS
CPU: Pentium 4 2.4Ghz

I wish I could help. I can't get mine to work properly either. I did everything that was listed here and it made it crash slightly less but that's about it. I wrote to customer support and they never answered. I have had every Civ game since the first one but this one will be my last.
