IC Games review on Great People

I am sooo loving all the stuff I am hearing about Great People-especially since I was lobbying for it since about the time PtW first came out-and in fact what they have come up with is almost identical to what I suggested :) . I also see it as another great method in toning down the effectiveness of ICS as a winning strategy. Anyway, I also hope that Great Military Leaders didn't get lost along the way-though they don't actually mention them at all, and thats a bad sign. Obviously in the absence of armies, the role of a MGL would be different, but I could see them working like so:

Gain you an instant military technology. Join them to a city and units built there get a bonus promotion (beyond any they might get for barracks or the Aggressive Trait), or sacrificed to build either a Military Academy or a Heroic Epic-which boosts the building time of all units in that city. I reckon that could work :)!

Oh, come on, the article says there will be even missionary units; all these religious themes... (see other threads)

Did anyone else catch the part about being able to trigger multiple Golden Ages, but requiring one more great person each time? I like that idea. I think it starts at 2, so your first Golden Age consumes 2 great people, the second consumes 3 great people, etc. It's a clean, simple way of keeping golden ages from becoming a runaway advantage.

@Aussie_Lurker, good idea for military leaders, but they would've mentionned them if they were like this... :)

On a second thought, what actually sprung up to me with this review is that they didn't improve one part of the game from civ3: The Unit looks. It seems to me that all the five culture groups (?) still have the same knights, swordsmen and musketmen, because the Great leaders don't differ themselves regarding civilization (and this review). This is somehow a pity, but on the other hand understandable...
