I'm on a mac and I'd like to know where to find the ICQ patch for the Active lists.

There isn't one.

You have 4 options from here:
1) Wait for ICQ to release a Mac version
2) Get a Windows Emulator and use the windows version
3) Buy a PC
4) Write your own.

I'm guessing that 1 or 2 would probably be the best options.

Mmm, I don't know what you meant by that. There is a Mac version of icq. You're probably talking about the active list, I suppose. Well in this case, what's that (activ list)?

GengisK you can find out all about the active list in the Civ2 - Multiplayer forum, but basically it is a contact list that is on all the time and has it's on server. It is used for scheduling Civ2 MGE games.

Yeah....I was talking about the Active List.

The Active List is like a community. Someone would run the server. The server has an Active List number (Much like an ICQ number)
The the Server Owner would pass out the number so people can connect to it.
When people connect, they are instantly connected to all other members of the list. So if you were to join my list today (If it was working.

) then you would be instantly connected to 65 other people. And they would all see you.

It's kind of like everyone sharing their contact list.
Anyway.....I got to go to work.

Muhahahaha! Chalk up another for Wintel(or substitute AMD for intel nowadays).
Welcome over Az! Make sure you get Windows 2000, crashes alot less than 95, 98, 98SE, or ME. Costs about $99 if you buy OEM with system.

Are you kidding Pale????

I won't give a drachma for any PC software! I'll get everything for free from friends and I may pay 10 $ every now and then to buy some program from a "shop" I know...

I'm not the one who's gonna make Bill richer and he won't make me poorer!

Buying a PC and running Windows on it is enough!

Speaking as a guy who has both a mac and a PC (with both windows and BSD), I would like to say that PCs are better in every single way.

<rant>

The macs crash more, are less easy to use (and my first computer was a mac, so don't tell me it's just what I'm used to), have less software, are slower, uglier (I LIKE beige!), harder to program for, and absolutely evil.

I too would like to see an active list for the mac, as I use the mac for civ 2 because the mac version was cheaper... I would try to make one myself, but see point #6 up above, they're hard to proram for! There's barely any documentation and the documentation that does exist works better as a sedative.. (although apple is kind enough to provide free excellent compilers for C, C++, Pascal, and ASM... I'd like to see Microsoft do that (ha) )
