Idea: Game of Thrones (Map)

Hello all. I've been a lurker around for a few months, most likely too lazy to sign up. Recently, I've been messing around with the map/world builder and thought of an awesome idea for a map as well as some new civilizations.

Game of Thrones! (Westeros)

It would be a huge map, one issue is the main land mass, as it is vertical.

As far a civilizations, I lack the talent to even try to create the banners for the various factions. What do you all think about the idea? If anyone wants to run with it, that would be excellent as I feel it may be too ambitious for me.

Thanks for having me, nice to meet you all. By the way, ambrox62, the Ancient Mediterranean Civilizations pack is absolutely grand. The quality and detail would be perfect for Westeros and surrounding land.

For creating banners, you'd just have to find the actual images online and create icons out of them. You wouldn't have to do much work other than importing the images into a dds file that has the icon templates already laid out.

Before you start on anything, have a quick look in the Modpacks sub-forum. To my knowledge there are a couple of attempts at mods based on the Game of Thrones novels, at least one of which has a map of Westeros. From memory, one is called 'A Song of Ice and Fire' and the other 'A Civ of Ice and Fire'.

I'm working on a Mod around "A Song of Ice and Fire" and used the map in the link below to make a decent replication of Westeros... still need to do some of rest of the world... and working with Nexus an skinning is kicking my butt... anyway. Good reference for a project of this sort.
