Idea to Improve Clan/Dovielo

I have been playing the Clan recently, and I think that my conquest strategy was a little overwhelming. I do not want raze all of the captured cities, nor due I want to add them to my empire.

I am wondering how effective it would be if there was a mechanic that allowed me to liberate captured cities to the barbarian nation. So all of the cities I capture will become breeding grounds for barbarian orcs. I think that this would also help add flavor to the mid and late game. Often times I am disappointed that there are no hordes of barbarian orcs around turn 150; depending on the map you play and your game options.
 
hey, that's actually a very nice idea to spice up the barbarian trait...it will probably need some balancing but I like the idea :)
 
That's a really good idea. But if you give this ability to the Doviello, not just to the Clan of Embers, you have to create barbarians of different races, because it makes absolutely no sense that cities given to the barbs by the Doviello have Orc soldiers.

It makes sense for even the Doviello to have Orc barbs coming from the city. Since the option is only available right when you capture the city, and you do not give up any of your own personal units, i tmust be implied that the Barbarians from around the area just happen to swarm in and take up residence after you kill all the natives but leave the city standing.

In that regard, population of the city should drop considerably when selecting to give a city to the Barbs.
 
This should also be done for hyborem; more over if I could establish a strong barbarian presence in the mid to late game, then the Clan's world spell would be worth a bit more.
 
I could pretty easily add a cheap ritual that uses python to give a city over to the barbarians, but letting them gift captured cities to the barbarians just like to a vassal would be beyond my coding ability. It would probably be a better implementation though, and should be implemented.
 
I was thinking that the Clan's hero could have the ability to convert cities to and from clan control.
