With Civ 7 featuring unique associated wonders for every civ in the game this also adds a bit of uniqueness to every civ and varies their play styles further as they all have their own unique wonder, this in a sense also adds to the authenticity of each Civ. However, a ‘wonder’ in reality could be much more than a great architectural feat. For example, despite not producing any architectural feats whatsoever, the Nok are best remembered for their impressive terracotta statues which is their ‘wonder’ as the realism and intricacies of these designs are greatly fascinating and primarily why despite the lacking information about them they still are remembered.

Similarly, whilst Benin is known for the impressive architectural feat that are the Walls of Benin, the fact that it is a series of walls and moats would mean that it wouldn’t be said associated wonder, however another ‘wonder’ of Benin were the Benin Bronzes which tell a story about the kingdom and its history.

I think it would be interesting to have an alternative to associated wonders known as “Unique Projects” or “Great Projects” similar to Yongle’s Lijia in Civ 6. However, instead these projects produce símilar effects to wonders or depending on project produce something such as a relic or codex. I feel this would be the best way to represent civs that may not necessarily have a major architectural feat but still had a different type of wonder be it cultural, social, etc. In fact it may not necessarily have to be for civs lacking such a feat but for any civ where it would be fitting in general.

If great artists don't return in their full capacity this could be fun. I really miss great works so having civs with unique ones would be a fun expansion to the system.

I am really sad great works are gone and really hope that great works return. But if they have an expansion DLC with more extensive and interesting great works system that allows for more of the cultural "curating" of the past games, I will forgive them for its exclusion from the base game (barely...lol).

And having civ-unique great works would be a really neat addition as well. It would be hard to find the line between what should be a universal work and what is emblematic enough to be tied to a particular civ, but as you said there ARE some examples like the Benin bronzes.

Persian rugs maybe? Ming China could have Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Egypt, Book of the Dead? The US could have a Hollywood film, either Citizen Kane or The Wizard of Oz so they fit into the broadly up-to WW2 era. Greece, The Iliad & The Odyssey. Rome, The Aneid? Or one of the histories? Russia either a Tolstoy or a Pushkin, or maybe Tchaikovsky. Modern Britian, Sherlock Holmes? Spain, Don Quixotes presumably.

Now I'm just having fun listing ideas. I'd say maybe that "unique works" could provide some extra yield along with culture in accordance with their theme, but the yield bloat in the game already looks pretty significant.
