Ideas for unique siege units

One little thing which always irritated me a bit is how very few unique siege (or "artillery" in this general sense) units are among Civ series, other than Hwacha and Siege Tower, of course.

I'm happy newer iterations of civ introduced many very diverse unique units (even naval and air ones), but siege is that one category which is very poor in ethnic uniques. Well there were also battering rams in civ5 but I don't count them as they were a) spearman replacement b) extremely weird units outside "siege" category.

Do you have any ideas for unique siege/"artillery" units for civilisations?

For the Ottomans they could do the Dardanelles Gun (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dardanelles_Gun) which was an enormous cannon. Maybe it could have like 50% more damage than the standard cannon, but take more production to build. Or maybe the same production to build, but you could only have one at a time before having to build regular cannons.

They also used it once in the 1800's to destroy a British ship (or at least damages the hell out of it) by filling it with shrapnel and other projectiles, so maybe it could have 2 fire modes, one good against inf/ships, one good against cities, and maybe it would need a turn to switch fire types, although that would probably work for any cannon really.

I know the excellent India split mod pack for Civ V included a Mughal UU which was a giant elephant-towed cannon.

That would be a sight to see in Civ VI if we had a Mughal alternate leader for India.

At present I suggest:

1. the Trojan horse for the Mycenaean or Greek Empire.

2. the Plague Trebuchet, throwing dead bodies who had died of plague (Biological warfare) for the Mongolian Empire.

3. the Katyusha rocket launcher for Stalin

Railway gun: Modern Age, has greater range and power than Artillery but can only move along railroads

Horse artillery: Renaissance Age, has a 1-tile ranged attack, moves faster than Cannon but still slower than Cavalry

For Sweden they could give them the leather cannon. While sweden was maybe not the first user or inventor of the leather cannon it was maybe the first one to make use of it in battle. While it was not particular successful it showed the value of mobile artillery. They could even give sweden some sort of horse artillery as a unique unit because sweden was also one of the first users of that artillery and it was more successful then the leather cannon.

They could even make that it unique unit only avaliable to Gustav II adolph as he was so famous for being one of the first users of mobile artillery.

Mantlet for the Iroquois, though I guess this sorta counts as a support unit too. A support unit that helps sieges.

Are they not already in game?

Mantlet for Iroquois is an inspired idea. They were great fun in Age of Empires III.

Thanks. In your Design a Civ thread I gave my Iroquois design the Mantlet as a support siege unit, actually.
