ARGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I just wrote up probably the longest post (a new thread) about this article. I even had references from Sphere that applied to the question i was asking to be discussed. But for the second time, the goddamn thing crashed. Maybe i did the vB code wrong or someting (pretty sure i didn't), but this f****** pissed me off. I always get these damn crashed when something important comes up. Then that stupid report thing comes up that asks you if you want to send a report of the error to Microsoft. Like that would do anything. I've done it before, doesn't do s***. Netscape is no better, with even more crashes (for me) and it installs all this bs crap like netscape messenger that i can't uninstall for the life of me. Do any of you get these insanely irritating crashes?????? If you wanna be on topic, then talk about the linked article, or start a new thread. Copy your writing though to the clipboard before you click submit new thread though.

I always highlight and control-C my posts from the same lesson learned. If it makes you feel better it usually goes faster the second time.

Yeah it happens all the time and it normally takes the whole system tray with it on my machine. That is why I've switched to Opera, which only crashes on occassion (mostly whenhavving to re connect after disconnecting.)

On a slightly unrelated side note - if you want to stop XP from asking you if you want to do an error report (They are useless), then follow these steps:
Open Control Panel.
Click on Performance and Maintenance.
Click on System.
Then click on the Advanced tab.
Click on the error-reporting button on the bottom of the windows.
Select Disable error reporting.
Click [OK] [OK]

Usually, IE never actually crashes on my computer, but I have lost some very long posts due to server failures, which piss me off whenever it happens. A standard procedure, is just to mark your post and then "Copy" with Ctrl + C, in case the server flips out.
Opera loads pages faster, is more stable, has mouse gestures, built in email and newsgroup support, and too many other features to list.
Plus if it ever crashes, it will open up again to the websites that you were browsing (that doesn't necessarily mean it will save any inputted text).

Meh, give Mozilla a try. From what I hear it's a lot better the IE. I'd use it but I'm to lazy to switch.

I switched to Opera recently and I'm very satisfied with it.
Some of the features I like in Opera:
-detailed info on what is happening during page loading like speed or number of images downloaded and left to download
-multi-document structure - many pages in one window
-in IE often when I wanted to save a picture, it allowed me to save it only as .BMP even if originally the picture was in other format, also IE sometimes didn't allow me to save pages to disk. I didn't experience any of these problems in Opera.
One thing I don't like about Opera is that some animated GIFs work very slow.

I'm surprised so few people actually use Netscape today. Yes, Netscape is still avalible for download ( www.netscape.com ), it's updated frequently and has better security. You can actually set it up to reject cookies and pop-ups much more intelligently than IE. Also, and most important, Netscape doesn't spy you ...
There is no perfect browser.There are trade offs with each one.
I can say since installing Mozilla 1.2.1 it has never crashed.NEVER..not once.Best browser by far I have used.Of course there are sites that don't work exactly right because some people are lazy.And of course the occasional visit to MS requires IE to be left installed.
