If life was a game of Civ IV...

--- The USA would still be furious with the British for razing the White House in the war of 1812.
--- Los Angeles would be a horribly corrupt city unable to support a population of more than a few hundred thousand. Des Moines would be the largest city on the planet.
--- Nobody would buy oil from the middle east because one oil well is enough to supply an entire empire.
--- World War 2 would have lasted a few hundred years.
--- The USSR, Cuba, North Korea and Vietnam would be the most prosperous nations on earth.
--- The Amazon rain forest would be 100% deforested and the site of several booming metropolises.
--- Democracies would be run by a dictator and all development would be centraly planned.

Ooh ooh i got one. Any city that is built around desert or doesnt make its own food by having specielists and few people working the land as in any big city would starve to death.

And if there were more unhappy people in a city then happy people they would all be unemployed and refuse to work if they are unhappy!

It would have taken Columbus 30 years to cross the Atlantic.

The gulf war would have been a complete defeat because of the camel mounted rock throwers. Iraq would have no use for WMD.

The "National Guard" would still be carrying big sticks instead of guns.

Archers and axemen would still be holding hilltops in most modern cities.

BTW, this thread reminds me a lot a much older one, "1000 Clues u're playing Civ too much"

- We would never have to worry about running out of oil.

-china's actual population would be 100 million
-there is a planet in alpha centari
-no civilization would want emancipation

how about

- russia would have been conquered easily by napoleon's troops, who would never be struck dead with frostbite.

- the incas, aztecs, and americans would be the three largest nations of the world.

- russia and arabia would be the smallest nations in the world (i'm talking about the 900 AD arabia here which spanned from morocco to india, not present day saudi arabia)

-industrialization would have developed at the same time and occurred all across the world.

-Everyone would still be pretty pissed at the Germans
-The World's population wouldn't even reach 300 million because "its to crowded"

America would be public enemy #1 in Japan:
- 40: You nuked us!

In America the public enemy #1 would be the CIS:
-3320: You nearly nuked us!

Then again, the CIS gave Alaska to the US for the equivelent of 33 million dollars:
+1: You gave us tribute!

America would like the new transitional government in Afghanistan:
+4: You adopted our favourite civic

France's excuse for hating America:
-3: You stopped trading with us
-1: You decleared war on our friend

--- You would'nt need to vote because your leader's term in office would last for 6050yrs.

-everyone would be one of 15 nationalities
-the american continent would be overrun with barbarians (in a terra map) with riflemen and grenadiers

World leaders would live for thousands of years (imagine having George W around for 5000 years!!!)

No country would ever export food ever, so populations would literualy live off the land.

It would be perfectly ordinary that in a huge, ultra-modern city, big elephants would be casually walking around through the streets between the buildings, just because in 4000BC you thought that elephant breeding ground was a fine place for a town.

if life was a game of civ 4 your city garud would be a huge elephant called dumbo
