If Marble can do it...

I've always found it a bit weird that Marble adds +15% to Ancient and Classical Wonders. It's a perfectly legitimate boost, there's just no other resource that has any similar effect.

So, what other Luxury / Bonus Resources could also provide a boost? Here's a couple of ideas to get started:

• Deer could add +25% to all pre-Industrial Ranged Units
• Dyes, Salt, and/or Copper and +1GPP for a Great Scientist
• Stone adds +50% to Walls, Castles and/or Colosseums
• Copper adds some form of production boost in the later eras.

I've always thought:
Copper - +15% production on melee units
Stone - +10% production on buildings
but some of the others would be hard to distinguish - Gold and Silver?

I'd like to see a 'rare earth metals' added that once mined gives a flat bonus of 15% production to all atomic and information era buildings and military units. Its rare of course so you won't see it often and it should be valuable as by the time you reach the atomic era there aren't a lot of turns left until the end.

Perhaps Gold and Silver could give bonus to Great Merchent .

I don't see any problem with some related resources overlapping in function.

Its also interesting that sheep as a strategic resource is so weak. Australia for instance thrived off the wool industry in the late 1800s and many of the Victorian era mansions in cities like Sydney and Melbourne were built from the money that was made trading wool to England.
Personally I think resources as a whole need to be completely overhauled.
realistically trade routes are only profitable if you can sell things that people are going to buy, either manufactured goods or raw materials. That should encourage expansion and control of resources, after all that's what spurred colonialism as well as WW1 and WW2.
