Here's a simple one to start you all out.
Make 4,4,4,4,4 = 22 How? You can use each four only once and you can use it any way you want. You can use addition, subtraction, multiplication, division or whatever but make sure you only use each four once.

Sqare root of 4 =2 2+4+4+4+4 =22

The ring that binds them all.

How about the Riddle of the Sphinx: what goes on four legs in the morning, two legs in the afternoon, and three legs in the evening?

and actually the real answer to mine was

44 + 44 = 88 divide that by 4=22

this actually works for five of any same number such as
55 + 55 = 110 divide by 5 = 22

77 + 77 = 154 divide by 7 = 22

ok now lets get complicated.
This riddle is called:
The King's Sons
There once was a prisoner of a great king, and he was sentenced to death. The king called the prisoner to come before him, and said, "I will spare your life and set you free if you can guess the ages of my three sons." The prisoner ordinarily lived far away, and did not know about the King's sons. The King said, "You have these two clues: multiplied together, my sons' ages equal 36; added together, they sum to my street address. Good luck." The prisoner was puzzled, and as the King turned to walk away, he quickly changed his mind. "I almost forgot," began the King, "in order for you to solve this riddle, you need to know that my eldest son likes chocolate." With that, he left. What are the King's sons' ages?

1
12
3
or
6
2
3
The other two clues are duds.
Maybe he doesn't even have any sons.
Or maybe the prisoner IS his only son. Or his WIFE?

That's some pretty crazy answers there Brad, but none of them are correct. <IMG SRC="http://forums.civfanatics.com/ubb/spinsmile.gif" border=0>

BTW -- I was noticing how your symbols of LOVE have turned into firing weapons.
Don't worry though, hate and love are really all the same.

I will give others a chance to answer.

Well I suspect no one knows,...so i'm going to give it away...but I'll ask another...
2, 2, 9.
What the chocolate clue means: that the King has an eldest son. In other words, you can only solve this riddle if you know that the oldest can't be twins. If you factor 36, you'll find a number of different combinations of three numbers that multiply to 36:
1 1 36
1 2 18
1 3 12
1 4 9
1 6 6
2 2 9
2 3 6
3 3 4
Of these combinations, only two add up to the same number; 2 + 2 + 9 = 13, and 1 + 6 + 6 = 13. (What a coincidence, that the only combination of three numbers that happens to make the oldest sons be twins, is one of these!) However, because we know there's only one eldest son, we can eliminate 1, 6, 6, and determine that the ages of the King's sons are 2, 2, and 9.

This one is much more simple....
Dead Man
A a man is lying dead in a field with a bag beside him, if he could've opened the bag 30 seconds earlier he would still be alive -- What is in the bag?

You are correct brad....

I will ask another, last one, then you guys take over for awhile.

Trees
You are in the forest. There are four trees which you can move around. Place them so that their bases are equidistant from one another. (The problem is to make 4 points equidistant from one another, not how can you measure things accurately in the middle of the woods.)

You are walking through the dessert, you come across a dead man. He has hung himself from a cactus... The branch is 10 feet of the ground... There are tire tracks going into the distance... there is a puddle of water under the man... NOTHING ELSE.
How did he kill himself?

He hung him self by bringing a block of ice to the desert by truck, standing on it and wiating for it to melt.
Can't think it possible to get four trees equidistant from each other unless they were all together.

And the car one? Geez, there's tons of scenarios. How about someone shot him, opened the door up, put him inside and then locked the door behind him. Or the trunk thing the other guys said. It's not a good riddle really since it is so open.

CEDRIC you are a loser

JK you got it right... too common of a riddle.

LOL, no need for name calling -- We're just having fun...

Ok here is a new one...

Lockers
There are 1000 lockers, which all start out closed. There are 1000 students standing in line. The first student walks down the row of lockers and opens every one. The second student closes lockers number 2, 4, 6, 8 .. 1000. The third student reverses the condition of lockers number 3, 6, 9, 12, .. 999. (By "reversing the condition" I mean if he finds a locker open, he closes it, and if he finds it closed, he opens it.) This continues through all 1000 students. Figure out mathematically which lockers will be open, and which ones will be closed.

------------------
<IMG SRC="http://www.overgrow.com/edge/images/smilies/alien.gif" border=0>

Do you mean student# 999 will only have two lockers to deal with???
If so, then my "guess" is that the only the first will remain open, all others will be closed???!!!

The answer to all of these questions is one word with seven letters:

What is greater than God?
More evil than the devil?
The rich need it?
The poor have it?
And if you eat it you will die?

Pretty easy stuff...
